Tami Bond's research group works on the interface between energy consumption and global atmospheric chemistry. While global change will be attributable to greenhouse gases after several decades, most activities also emit pollutants with lifetimes of a few days that affect the atmosphere and climate now. We're interested in understanding the past and the next few decades of the atmosphere.

Our main analytical focus has been understanding physical, chemical and optical properties of carbon-containing particles, and the factors that govern combustion emissions. Students are about equally divided between measurements and modeling.
